MICDA's 30th Birthday
Magnetic Island's Community Development Association, the organisation which emerged from the former MI Community & Commerce Association which in turn formed out of the original MI Tourist Association that began in 1974 is celebrating 30 years of community life this evening with a full-moon barbeque at the Picnic Bay Jetty park.President, Lorna Hempstead told Magnetic Times, "In 2001 as a result of the Peter Kenyon Report it was decided to adopt the Magnetic Island Community Development Association which, is where we are today and to celebrate 30 years and Christmas we are inviting all Islanders and prospective members to our celebration social and barbeque."
The details: Venue: Picnic Bay BBQ area at the park by the jetty When:5pm - 8pm today ( full moon was on Sat so should be a great evening) Cost: $2.00 adults $1.00 per child -- for BBQ (and there will be vegetarian food too) Bring: A small plate of dips / salad or dessert to share / Plates and cutlery, glasses / chairs or a rug and something to drink, games for the kids on the beach!
