Tomorrow night will see the first Magnetic Island Musos Club for 2009 and, going on previous January gigs, the night should be pretty interesting.

Magnetic's teen band sensation, The Jay Walkers, are back and it will be fascinating to see if school holidays has led to new material from the boys.

Shed 9 return and there is very good reason to attend just to watch this band as it evolves between the diverse players who have come together to make it happen.

Word is the Gavin Ryan will also be back with a young guitarist pal who, we hear, is no slouch with an axe.

There is also the possibility that some holiday-making ring-ins will join in the fun with an open-mic performance. It has certainly happened before.

Musos Club kicks up on the second Saturday of every month and is a great chance to meet locals, listen to some hot Island music and get up and dance your thongs off.

There are very affordable Indonesian meals available from Nel at the RSL kitchen and the bar is open right through until midnight.

Musos Club starts at 7pm and finishes at midnight at the MI RSL Hall, Hayles Ave Arcadia. An entry donation of $5 for non-members over 18 is expected but not for those under.
