Like so many things at the Nelly Bay harbour these 'works' come (seemingly) completely without notice and (apparently) in no way connected to the destructive and conspicuous beach erosion still underway right there at the Esplanade and Constitution Bridge. Yes, I know that Council is supposed to be researching what to do about the erosion - why Council I don't know because it is clearly in the State Marine Park and Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and the problem is coming from the sea not the land - but why isn't the Queensland Government facing up to the elephant in the room instead of fiddling at the edges?
