Planned burn update
Rangers walked up into the hills above Bolger Bay today to assess the progress of the fire. Yesterdays planned burn was very successful and due to the dry conditions the fire has continued burning along the ridge. Several small slow moving fronts are burning at a low intensity in the high country. The fire is at a very high elevation and is not burning near any residential properties.
Following are photos taken by Island rangers of the fire.
The fire could continue for several days and will most likely be extinguished with the onset of overnight dew. Rangers will continue to monitor the fire and keep the community informed of any changes.
