Rangers are preparing for a planned burn soon on the headlands between Horseshoe, Balding and Radical Bays.

The fire is expected to occur over the coming week if weather conditions are suitable.

The objective of this burn will be to reduce the heavy fuel load in this area and encourage the regeneration of the Acacia woodland.

When this occurs the walking tracks between Horseshoe, Balding and Radical Bays will be closed.

Rangers will endeavour to speak to tour operators and the local community regarding track closures as soon as a decision is made.
