Townsville Police are appealing to the public for information after the death of a South Townsville resident on July 24.

Detectives from Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating after 53-year-old man, Michael Bennell, was found deceased by friends in his caravan just before 1.15pm on Friday.

Investigators would like to speak to any member of the public who had spoken to, or had contact with Mr Bennell over the past two weeks.

Police are treating the death as suspicious.
