Walking track closed for planned burn
Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will be conducting a planned burn today Monday 10th August at the headland east of Horseshoe Bay.The fire will take place over a few days and will be ignited along the along the Radical – Horseshoe Bay walking track burning towards Balding Bay.
The purpose of the burn is to reduce the high fuel load of dead Spinifex and Acacia at this location and conserve the woodland habitats.
The walking tracks between Horseshoe, Radical and Balding Bays will be closed from Monday 10th – Tuesday 11th August. It is important for public safety that people do not enter the track during this time.
