What's On Magnetic Island NYE

Magnetic Island is a lively place to be on New Years Eve and deciding where to go and what to do can be a difficult decision. To help make up your mind Magnetic Times has compiled a listing of NYE activities across the Island that (at the time of posting) are yet to be booked out.

Horseshoe Bay
Marlin Bar: 9pm till 2am: Steve Hoy and Helen Ryder provide easy listening guitar and vocals. Admission free

Bungalow Bay: 7pm till midnight with covers band, Tongue & Groove. Admission free

Arcadia
Arcadia Hotel, 8pm – 2am: Rock n Roll with Glenn Antoney and the Rock House Company. Rock n Roll covers. Admission free.

Nelly Bay
All Seasons (formerlly Magnetic International Resort) On Mandalay Ave. 7.30pm – 1am. NYE Latin themed function with Latin Dancers Latin Vibrations performing through the evening. Pre-bookings $59 adults and $29 children (includes a welcome drink). Bookings essential.

Base backpackers: 6pm – 5am NYE Full Moon Party with DJs Head Kandi – direct from UK plus 4 DJs on two separate DJ stages. Admission $35 pre-booked and $45 at the door. All patrons must show ID.

Nelly Bay fireworks display (see below)

Picnic Bay
Picnic Bay Pub/R&R Bar: 8pm Rocky Bay Band followed by DJ 4enzik (drums and bass). Music outside pub on bay side with great access to TCC Strand fireworks display. Admission free.

Townsville City Council Fireworks displays (Free)
TCC will produce pyrotechnics displays across the city. Displays will be staged at three locations:
Strand firings on barges offshore from Strand Park at 8pm and midnight
Riverway firings at 9pm and midnight
Nelly Bay firing at midnight (best views from Nelly Bay beach and harbour area

Each display will last approximately 15 minutes and residents are urged to secure pets during this time.

Buses
Magnetic Island Bus Service advise that a bus will be operating continuously through the night running from Picnic Bay to Horseshoe Bay and back, mostly along the main roads.
