If you can think of a someone who made an outstanding contribution to the arts in 2009 then you might wish to see that he or she are recognised for their efforts by nominating them for one of the 2010 Townsville City Council Arts Awards.

Nominations are being sought that recognise the outstanding contributions made to Townsville including Magnetic Island's cultural life that occurred during the calendar year January to December 2009.

There are now 13 nomination categories:

Visual Arts Exhibition
Visual Arts Individual (new category!)
Writing
Theatre
Dance
Music
Film & Multi-media
Event / Festival
Production of the year
Limelight Award
Technical (new category!)
R.A.D.F. (Regional Arts Development Fund) (new category!)
Outstanding Performance by and Individual (new category!)

"TCC Community Cultural Development Officer, Mr Shannon Chadwick said, "Decisions are arrived at after deliberation by a committee of five community representatives who are arts and culturally aware."

The winners are announced on the night of the Awards which is scheduled for March 5 at Riverway Arts Centre

To make a nomination all that is required is a typed or handwritten response on the nomination form.

1. Print out the NOMINATION FORM or complete the form ONLINE
2. Enter in the details requested and say why you believe your nominee is deserving of the award
3. Return to the addresses indicated below.
