Sunferries have advised Magnetic Times that tonight's services have been cancelled and Fantasea Cruising Magnetic have advised that their 6.05pm service from Townsville has also been cancelled due to deteriorating weather conditions.

Sunferries' General Manager, Mr Darrin McDonald, contacted Magnetic Times to advise that Sunferries' 6pm service from Townsville would be their last for today.

Magnetic Times spoke to Fantasea Skipper Ross Christensen, at the wheel of the Island barge. "It's close to 35 knot winds with a 2 metre swell and very confused, choppy seas. It's far from ideal and we will decide when we return to port whether we will cancel the 4.25pm service from Townsville," but added, "The chances are that this will be our last trip." At the time he was referring to the return service from Magnetic which departed at 3.30pm.

Fantasea had confirmed already that their 6.05pm service from Townsville has been cancelled.

Magnetic Times will advise whether the 4.25pm Fantasea service from Townsville has been cancelled as soon as we are notified.
