October 23rd 2010 Vale Claude Brian Timms: 1968 - 2010 A popular and well-known Magnetic Islander, Claude Timms of Bolger Bay, passed away last Tuesday 19 October, following a lengthy illness. Claude’s parent’s, Bill and Elena wish to inform friends and acquaintances of Claude’s that a crematorium service will be held at Woongarra Crematorium on the Bruce Highway south of Townsville on Tuesday 26 October at 2pm. A wake will follow at the Waterside Workers Hall, 18 Mcllwraith St South Townsville. Claude was the brother of Maxwell and Anthony and father to Harlee Magnetic Times will be publishing more about Claude in coming days as further material is gathered. What a sad loss... I will always remember him for the cheeky remarks and taking the mickey out of me for eting healthy food(: He would say "what you eating that for...you're gonna die anyway" then give me a friendly nudge and laugh. Claude had a wonderful approach to his illness, so much so, that we often forgot he could go soon. A great loss to our society, as was Dot Cole. Both had a real joie de vivre and spoke their mind without fear and always gave of themselves selflessly, assisting NFP organisations and offering friendly chats. Claude, you will be sorely missed and I know you will do your best wherever you have gone or return to. Bill and Elena will need lots of love and hugs and help so let's do that(:

Claude was one of a kind. Honest, forthright, and with a sense of humour and an attitude to life few achieve. Vale mate. I'll miss you.
