Tibetan meditation master returns to give free public talk

Lama Choedak Rinpoche Tibetan-born meditation master, Lama Choedak Rinpoche, is returning to Magnetic Island for a public talk, titled, perhaps appropriately for our cyclone prone location: "Dealing with fear of natural disasters: A Buddhist perspective" on Thursday August 18 at 7.30pm.

Lama Choedak Rinpoche has lived in Australia since 1985. As a former monk, he completed a traditional three and a half solitary meditation retreat sponsored by His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama.

Helene Rankin from Magnetic Buddha Dharma said, "Everyone is welcome to meet Lama Choedak Rinpoche on Thursday night at Magnetic Buddha Dharma. 7.30pm 27 Wansfell St Picnic Bay. This talk is FREE. Any queries call me on 47581730."

According to information supplied by Magnetic Island's Buddha Dharma, Lama Choedak will also be taking a retreat at Paluma from August 19 to 21 in Calm Abiding Meditation. During the retreat, "Lama Choedak offers tried techniques that have been passed on in the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition for hundreds of years. Lama Choedak will carefully guide you into each meditation session, teaching the fundamentals of Calm Abiding Meditation, so that complete beginners, as well as experienced meditators will go home with a set of self-transformative tools."
