Carbon Cuts 2 Film comp deadline extended

A winner from Last year Brittany Weatherspoon with Judges Charlie Veron and Julie Heath If you had an idea for making a short flick for Magnetic Island Nature Care's, Carbon Cuts 2 Short Film Competition, but just hadn't found the time, then here is your big chance to have a crack at some of the $2000 in prize money and say something in a film on the theme: "Energy to make a difference". That is because the deadline has now been extended until Sunday 18 September.

Instead of an Awards night on Friday 19 August 2011, the entries in the Carbon Cuts '2' short film competition will be screened at the Bay Days Festival 'Movies under the Stars' on 22 September and 23 September.

According to Carbon Cuts 2 organiser, Linda Wootten, "This will enhance the Bay Days movie night and allow MINCA to make a difference by saving energy.

"Owing to this extended period, if there is anyone out there who planned to make a movie and didn't finish in time - we know there are a few - you have until Sunday 18 September to deliver your short film entry to Wendy Tubman at 23 Murray Street, Nelly Bay."

MINCA has a video camera available for borrowing if needed. If you would like to borrow it, please email m-i-n-c-a@hotmail.com or phone Linda on 47581185 as soon as you can.

Details of the theme etc are at the MINCA website under 'Current Activities'

MINCA's Carbon Cuts 2 Short Film Competition is supported and sponsored by Ergon Energy's Smart Lifestyle Centre.
