Zumba is back!
Zumba, the latin-inspired, easy to follow, calorie burning, dance fitness party is back on Magnetic Island. After 6 months without Zumba since Yvonne Tawhai moved to Townsville, classes are back on the Island with a new instructor at the helm.
It's all thanks to Yvonne getting behind one of her faithful students. Yvonne convinced Kelly Grech to become a Zumba instructor and has offered much support and encouragement for Kelly's transition from student to teacher.
Classes have now started at the Uniting Church Hall every Tuesday and Thursday at 10.30am and Wednesday evenings at 6pm.
'I wasn't an exercise type of person. I get bored running, riding and all the usual types of exercise but when you can dance and exercise with Zumba, it's a totally different experience. It's a great way to warm up on a cold winter morning, and getting moving really raises your endorphins. You feel good all day after doing Zumba,' Kelly says.
