"The first Grader" this Saturday
The story of an 84 year old Kenyan man Maruge, (Oliver Litondo), who insisted on his right, as offered by the government, to a free education, is the subject of the film 'The First Grader'. When Maruge turns up at the village school he's initially turned away by the principal Mrs. Obinchu (Naome Harris), but his persistence eventually wins her over. 'The First Grader is Magnetic Island Film Society's offering for members and the general public keen to see interesting, quality films. It's screening at the RSL Hall in Hayles Ave, Arcadia, this Saturday night. To read more of the review by ABC's At the Movies reviewer, Margaret Pomeranz (Click Here)
