QPWS planned burns notice
The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting two planned burns today and tomorrow at different locations on Magnetic Island. On Monday 30th July Rangers will be undertaking a low-intensity planned burn for conservation at the Searchlight Tower. This walking track will be closed for the day and reopen on Tuesday.
On Tuesday 31st July Rangers will be assisting the Wulgurukaba at the Sticks area near West Point to undertake a small fuel reduction burn.
As a result, smoke will be seen on the headland between Arthur and Florence Bays on Monday and the West Point area on Tuesday.
