Magnetic Island Local Ambulance Committee
The Magnetic Island Local Ambulance Committee is a volunteer group of people selected to form a committee that acts as a QAS / Community interface. Its idea is to allow a feedback mechanism from community to QAS, and from QAS to community. Also within its scope is to suppliment the financial needs of the QAS through the provision of operational equipment and station enhancements.
Operating since: The Local Ambulance Committee was formed in July 1991, after the State Government amalgamated the different committees situated around the state of Queensland, and formed the Queensland Ambulance Service
Main activities: Assiting the QAS on a local level in community awareness, and supplimentary funding through charitable events
Number of members: 8
Meetings held: Third Monday of every month at 7pm.
Wish list: Dedicated members of the community who assist the hard working members with fundraising activities.
