Beach Ball raises $5000

Gorgeous beach gals of the past Last Saturday's Beach Ball to raise funds for the Arcadia Surf Life Saving Club's nippers has been another great success.

One of the organisers Lisa Nugent told Magnetic Times the event, which is the second of its kind, raised about $5000 for the club.

But as far as a night of entertainment is concerned it was the talk of the Island and according to all reports (MT unable to attend due to illness) the Beach Ball was a big winner with between 200 and 250 attending and plans now for the event to become a twice yearly occasion.

Lisa Nugent said, "It was great food a great band and beautiful surf girls" making particular reference to the bevy of beach babes who did their utmost to flaunt their assets and show how magnetic Island girls can be.

Lisa was however keen to thank, on behalf of the club, the following businesses and organisations who supported the event: Arcadia Hotel, MI Ice, MI RSL, MI Home Hardware, MI Pool Supplies, Arcadia Store, Arcadia News, Fantasea Cruises and Tours, Island Leisure Resort, Sunferries and Sandals.

The following parents of nippers were also thanked for the fine food they provided: Jules Bowler, Cindy Tickle, Stephanie Hinks, Melissa Digby, Helen McDermott, Natalie Crouch, Mick & Michelle Doran, Janelle Cox, Charlotte Kalsgaard, Belinda & Pete McGrath, Jennifer Wheatley, Nancy Hughes, Kerry Brunker, Lisa Dunn.
