Cyclone expected to form Tuesday

At 2.30pm on Sunday (Feb 8) the Bureau of Meterology (BOM) forecast the liklihood of a cyclone forming in the northern Coral Sea from Tuesday onwards.

The BOM's Tropical Cyclone Outlook reported: "At the present time there are no significant tropical disturbances in the Coral Sea. However most computer models still forecast the development of a tropical cyclone over the northern Coral Sea from Tuesday onwards and its subsequent movement towards the southwest

"Potential for a Tropical Cyclone to develop in the next 36 hours is low but is
high between 36 and 72 hours."

The BOM produces extensive information about cyclones as well as the Tropical Cyclone Outlook which is available on Weather By Fax 190 293 5278 at a cost of 66cents/minute and can also be accessed through the Bureau's Home Page: http://www.bom.gov.au
