The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting a planned burn on the western side of Magnetic Island Tuesday 24th July 2012.

Weather conditions are suitable to undertake the low intensity fires in the national park to achieve conservation and maintaining healthy woodlands.

Smoke may be seen coming from the far western side of the island and is unlikely to affect residents.
