Cool marketing with happy hour
While the south embraces daylight saving, we here in the north sensibly adopt a more active nightlife for the oncoming humid season. In particular, Islanders and friends will no longer need to sit or shop in the heat of Saturday morning at the Arcadia Markets now held at the RSL Hall, Hayles Ave. Instead they can sleep in - in the knowledge that they will have already been marketeering the night before.
From this Friday night 31 October, the RSL Markets will be held from 6pm to 9pm in the RSL grounds with access to the bar inside from 5pm to 9pm.
The markets offer a wonderful range of local produce including fresh fruit, veges and garden plants to craft items including jewellery and artworks by some of the Island's top artists. It's the ideal place to visit in search of a truly authentic Magnetic Island Christmas gift. You can even stop for dinner with delicious Thai cooking for the hungry hordes. But, best of all, it is all held in the cool of the night.
The RSL members will also still be selling their bbq packs for $5-00, so come and enjoy the end of the week with great bargains, a cold drink and your choice of food and don't forget Happy Hour with $2-50 stubbies every Friday 6-00 to 7-00pm!
