Police start business contact register
Even on sunny Magnetic Island crime does occur. Earlier this month a storeroom at the Magnetic International Resort was broken into. Thirtytwo bottles of liquor and a quantity of cash was stolen in the night. Police are still investigating. Break-ins during the night however, present a problem for police as they are often unable to readily contact owners or key holders to the affected business premises quickly. That is why MI's Police Senior Sergeant Kerry Kraut is setting up a register of owner and key holder contact details.
Sergeant Kraut told Magnetic Times, "We will be approaching the larger business owners to complete the form or ring through the details and hope that the many other smaller business operators will complete the form which we will have available on the counter at the Police Station from next week."
Magnetic Island Police can be contacted on 47 785 270.
