Whats On in December 2008
|
As the end of another year on Magnetic Island draws closer it's time for locals to catch up for the many end-of-year parties and prepare for the Christmas holiday influx. Many will no doubt be gathering for the annual fun and pleasure of Carols by Candlelight which returns to Alma Bay on Thursday 11th. Others may opt to think globally and act locally by attending Walk Against Warming in Townsville on Sunday the 7th. Then, of course, there are the wonderful foreshore Markets at Horseshoe Bay on the 21st for last minute gifts and yet another - just for chilling out - on the 28th. Life goes on - Magnetically.

What's On | Oct 2nd 2008
After the excitment of the Bay Days Festival, which still has a few days to go, and all the charm of the Great Tropical Jazz Party, Magnetic Island will be a little quieter in October. But, with a huge weekend to come, including the Arcadia Music Cabaret on Saturday night, and the Magnetic Magic Bowls Carnival followed by Sunday's Recovery Party with Sara Shaw at Horseshoe Bay, it's likely that Islanders will be happy to return to their, more familar, laid-back, lifestyles.

What's On | Jun 2nd 2008
June is when the perfect north Queensland winter weather takes hold and visitors and residents love to get out and about. There's a lot on in the region including the, off-Magnetic, Palm Creek Folk Festival but there are some terrific times to be had on terra Magnetic with the Golf Club's Ladies Championships, great music with "Humarimba" muso Lindsay Pollak visiting as well as the always grooving Musos Club. But for those who love a bit of sun and a great garden, save your legs for the 28 and 29th when the Australian Open Gardens weekend on Magnetic Island comes into full bloom.

As many Magnetic Islanders would know the, monthly, Magnetic Island What's On Poster, which is distributed across MI and to selected locations in Townsville, is a printed accompaniment to this website and is produced by magnetictimes.com staff. But with the increased likelihood of event clashes, especially in the busy winter months, the need for an easily accessed year planner has become a must. We are therefore soon to launch Clash Buster a special long term Island planner.
